Gift Guide #3: Hosting Your Cutie Patootie Niece and Nephew for July 4th

My sister and her family are coming to visit for the 4th of July holiday, and I could not be more excited (!!). We are planning for the usual things – grilling, pool time, and fireworks – but I also have a few other things in store. If you’re hosting for 4th of July, I hope these ideas will be helpful.
These small rechargeable lamps aren’t on the usual summer supply lists, but I hope they will encourage lingering after dinner on the patio long after the sun’s gone down.
Where I live, mosquitos are always an uninvited guest, so I’m game for trying the latest remedy. This year I’ll try these highly rated artisanal incense sticks that promise to deliver results and a lovely sea salt fragrance alongside my annual go-to, the Fredericks & Mae citronella incense hanging coil.
My friend B suggested I try this handy sunscreen applicator for my young niece. It allows you to roll on the sunscreen – ideal for a squirmy kid – and keep your hands clean. I’ll report back on my findings!
Years ago, a friend told me about how her sister Kelly would host “Camp Kelly” for a young niece and nephew. I reworked this cute design on Zazzle for “Camp Elisabeth” hats and a welcome banner. (I know, it’s kinda extra and I kinda love it)
There’s no camp without crafts, and so I will finally be putting this indigo & shibori natural dye kit to good use to jazz up white kitchen towels.
There are lots of thoughts on how to make a guest room extra inviting, but I try and focus on, well, the guest. My sister loves to run a fan at night, so I picked up this one that is billed as whisper quiet.
I stocked the bathroom with this yummy shampoo and conditioner that will blow my nephew’s mind.
And will most definitely be cracking open this non-alcoholic sparkling rosé that’s surprisingly delicious.
