Weekend Reads v. 28.6.2024

I’m off to explore the cute town of Warrenton, VA this weekend. What about you? It’s a bit chaotic out there at the moment, so I hope you make plans to take gentle care of yourself this weekend.
“The New Midlife Crisis” was a really interesting short read.
“Alongside this feminist understanding of the midlife crisis was a masculinist one. It received more extensive treatment in literature and media, which is why in its popular usage ‘midlife crisis’ was applied primarily to men—their fantasies, foibles, and mishaps.”
This travel advice was pretty spot-on. I laughed out loud at this opinion:

Have you heard of Blogothèque Take Away Shows? Often shot in alleyways or places with amaaaazing reverb, these videos often show an intimate and gorgeous side of an artist or band. This recent edition with Marlon Williams is on repeat for me. (I’m laughing just thinking about the opening!)
And speaking of music, here’s a podcast full of gems from my friends at the hip golf company Jain that you might enjoy.
