Weekend Reads v. 11.8.2024

There is a brutal summer virus making the rounds in my neck of the woods, and this was my week to battle it. I spent the better part of one day confined to my bed. I’m not sure why, but as early as my elementary school days I’ve found myself fighting off a pang of guilt when I’ve stayed home sick during the week. Being physically wiped out served as a good reminder that prioritizing rest is not some trendy form of “self-care.” No, rest is a required rhythm for a healthy life.
